Window Design Ideas
Here are some ideas to consider when replacing your windows and doors:
|
|
Put your dollars where they will be seen
We often recommend that people spend a little more on the areas of the house
that are either visible from the street or in areas where you entertain. Install wood windows in a living room or den where
guests can appreciate them and use less expensive windows in areas of the home where the windows are not a focal point, such
as a bedroom. High-end builders have been doing this for years!

Grids When done tastefully, grids can add charm and character to your home. Many time grids are
only used on the street side of the home. Grids bring focus to the window so we don't recommend them in view situations

Exterior Trim
Like grids, exterior trim can enhance the appearance of your home. Wide
trim and faux sills are popular in today's new construction market. Adding them to your home can really update your home's
look.

Interior Trim
If your home has plain drywall interiors or dated molding, adding new trim
can often change the entire feel of a room.
Resizing Openings
We frequently change window sizes. Just because the builder installed a
small window originally, doesn’t mean you have to live with it. We can change windows into patio doors or simply increase
the size of a window. Whether you want to add more light to a room or add new access to your yard, we can change window openings
to fit your needs. This is very popular in master bedrooms and dining areas

French Doors If you have a sliding door that you have grown tired of, a new French door is a great way
to update a room and enhance access to a yard or garden. Also, consider changing a bedroom window to a French door –
it’s a great upgrade.

Bays/Bows/Gardens A new bay window will enhance the interior of your home like no other window can. Rooms actually
feel larger with a bay window and you enjoy increased light in the room. A bay can also be a great architectural detail that
changes a tract look into a designer showpiece.

Garden windows are also very popular. They are most often found in kitchens
above the sink. Plants really love them. The added sunlight lets you garden year-round. We have also installed them in bathrooms
with the same effect.
